The Commerce and Management Department offers dynamic environment aspiring to nurture the students with the knowledge, skills, and mind set needed to excel in the world of business. The department is committed to provide a transformative learning experience through well-designed curriculum offering collaboration of interactive classroom environment with field-based experiential. The department aims to attain excellence by building leadership skills and novel solutions among young aspiring corporate leaders through a responsible business leadership emphasis on modern teaching and research approaches that respond to real-world company needs and inspire new thinking.

HOD's Desk

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all of you to the Department of Commerce and Management at CT Institute of Higher Studies, Shahpur, Jalandhar. Established in 2013 with the launch of B.Com and BBA programs, our department has since grown into a center of academic excellence.
We are proud to offer a range of quality undergraduate programs, including B.Com, BBA, and the recently introduced B.Voc in E-Commerce and Digital Marketing, designed to meet the evolving demands of the corporate world. Our mission is to deliver academically rigorous and professionally relevant education in key areas such as Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource Management.
Our department is committed to preparing students for the challenges of modern careers by offering a wide array of value-added programs that enhance both knowledge and skill sets. We emphasize holistic development through value-based education, fostering positive attitudes, strong communication skills, and practical abilities through training sessions, cultural events, and sports activities.
To encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, we provide platforms like Business Plan Competitions where students can present their startup ideas and apply their learning in real- world contexts. Our strong, experienced faculty is dedicated to mentoring a diverse community of learners, helping them unlock their potential and achieve success through high-quality teaching and a student-centric approach.
We also promote experiential learning by facilitating internships with reputed organizations, giving students invaluable hands-on exposure to the corporate environment.

Courses Offered

1. B.COM(Bachelor of Commerce) Senior Secondary (10+2) examination with at least 50% marks in the aggregate in any stream of Punjab School Education Board. Or Any other examination with 50% marks in aggregate recognized as equivalent to above by the university.
2. BBA(Bachelor of Business Administration) Senior Secondary (10+2) examination of PSEB with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. or Any other examination with 50% marks in aggregate recognized as equivalent to above by the university.
3. B. Voc(E-Commerce & Digital Marketing) +2 pass in any stream

Learning Process & Methodology

The pedagogy designed is a blend of practical and theoretical approaches delivered through interactive classroom sessions, discussions, quizzes, assignments, academic/field projects, research assignments, role plays, club activities, and industry participation through guest lectures, workshops, conclaves, seminars, conferences, industrial visits etc. Each student's interests, abilities, skills, and learnings are meticulously mapped and mentored by the faculty-mentors. Academic excellence, creativity, innovation, and design thinking are all prioritized. Also, overall development is ensured through sports activities, performing arts, and sessions on personality development and human values.
